Buying irons on the Costa del Sol
Irons are where a fitting pays for itself most obviously. Lie angle alone moves the ball several metres offline at 150 yards — get it wrong and you spend years compensating with your swing. We check club length, shaft material, flex and weight, lie angle, grip size and set make-up on every iron set that leaves the shop.
Set make-up matters more than most golfers realise. The 4-iron in a modern game-improvement set is often unusable for the player who bought it; a 5-hybrid in its place gains 15 metres of carry and a far steeper landing angle. We build the top and bottom of the set around what you can actually hit, rather than shipping the box configuration.
Stock spans forged players' irons from Mizuno and Titleist through to genuinely forgiving cavity-backs from Ping, Wilson Staff and Cobra. Bending for loft and lie happens in our workshop on a proper machine, and re-checks are free for the life of the set — soft forged heads move over a season of Andalusian dirt.
