A family golf shop on the Costa del Sol.
Since first opening in December 2008, Golf City Sports has striven for permanently low and competitive prices, along with a strong quality ethic and — very importantly — listening to our clients' needs.

The cheaper club is often the right club.
Most golf retail works the other way round. The margin is in the premium head, so the premium head is what gets recommended. We have never run it like that, partly on principle and partly because it does not work in a town where everyone knows everyone — on the Costa del Sol your reputation arrives before you do.
So the fitting comes first, and the fitting decides. Often it points at a previous-generation driver at half the price, or a €26 dozen of low-compression balls instead of a €54 tour ball the golfer cannot compress, or a €13 set of grips rather than a new set of irons. Plenty of customers have walked out having spent forty euros and come back two years later to spend a thousand.
The other half of it is the workshop. A shop that can bend a lie angle, cut and re-weight a putter, re-shaft a broken driver and re-grip a full set in twenty minutes is a genuinely different proposition from a shop that ships everything away. It means we can fix problems rather than sell around them.
And we live here. We play these courses, we know which greens are running fast in August and which fairways are tight enough to punish a digging wedge. Equipment advice that ignores where you actually play is not advice, it is a catalogue.
“Permanently low and competitive prices, along with a strong quality ethic and, very importantly, listening to our clients' needs.”
Our founding line, since 2008
We appear at the top of Google Maps for golf shops in the area, which is entirely down to reviews rather than advertising. That is worth protecting, so we are careful about what we sell and who we sell it to.

Most jobs while you wait
Seventeen years on the same coast road.
- 2008
The doors open
Golf City Sports opens in Estepona in December with one straightforward idea: permanently low and competitive prices, a strong quality ethic, and actually listening to what customers need rather than selling them the most expensive option on the wall.
- 2012
The workshop goes in
Sending clubs away for a fortnight to be re-gripped was never good enough. A proper bench, a bending machine and a shaft puller meant most jobs became while-you-wait — which is still how we do it.
- 2016
Pre-owned becomes a proper business
Trade-in grew from an occasional favour into a core part of the shop. Every set inspected by hand, conservatively graded, and priced so a golfer on a budget can still get into clubs that fit.
- 2020
Launch monitor fitting
Guesswork out, data in. Fitting moved onto a launch monitor so customers could see carry, spin, launch and dispersion for themselves instead of taking our word for it.
- 2024
SkyTrak+ and a new mat
Upgraded to the SkyTrak Plus with a top-quality hitting mat installed by Grassify Marbella — the setup we fit, coach and hire out of today.

Top of Google Maps for golf shops in the area, and still the same family behind the counter. The rating is the part we are most careful about — it is easier to keep than to recover.
A family shop, not a chain.
Mario Luca
Founder & PGA Professional
Mario has been fitting and building clubs on the Costa del Sol since 2008. He runs every SkyTrak+ fitting personally — and is known for talking golfers out of the expensive option when a cheaper club performs better.
Rocco Luca
Club Fitting & Workshop
Rocco grew up in the workshop. He handles re-shafting, lie-angle adjustment and the while-you-wait re-gripping bench, and manages the pre-owned trade-in grading.
